QUANTITIES ARE ALL RELATIVE (1000=100=10)
1. 333 grams of powdered dry leaf would be placed in a bowl, pressed down to make it as flat as possible. The more powdered the leaf, the less acetone would be needed. 3. The acetone would be poured out into a LARGE glass bowl, strained it through a double mesh filter. NOW THERE WOULD BE CHOICES ON HOW TO PROCEED: I. MAKING ENHANCED LEAF:
1. When there’s about 1000ml left, the 100 grams (for 10x) of finely crushed Salvia leaf would be added to the acetone extract. 2. It would then have to evaporate completely down, as it was mixed very well and often so that it would evenly mix as the volume of acetone evaporated down to just wet leaf. If there was some green film on the sides of the bowl, the acetone would be gently swished around the sides to re-dissolve it. 3. The enhanced leaf would be laid out in several large shallow pans for at least a day to ensure that the Acetone has COMPLETELY dissolved. If there is even the slightest scent of ANY Acetone whatsoever, it wouldn't be free of harmful chemicals yet. II. MAKING PURE SALVINORIN INSTEAD: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1. The acetone would be evaporated down until the material turned into a thick paste. 5. This would be repeated until the salvinorin was turning into a light green. This would take several small washes, but it would eventually turn the salvinorin into a light green bottom layer. 6. The green wax would be scraped off the sides and discarded, a small amount of alcohol would be dissolved onto the top layer, it would be left to sit to turn dark green, and then eyedropped off. NOTE: The salvinorin would look MUCH GREENER when it was wet, so there would be no need to try TOO hard to get the salvinorin to white color! FURTHER PURITY: 1. The 2,500mg of salvinorin would be dissolved into about 100ml of acetone in a TALL and THIN beaker, and put into darkness for 6 hours. 2. After 6 hours, the acetone would be decanted off, and the sediment on the bottom would be discarded. 3. This would be placed into the CrockPot with the Speed Drier, and when there was about 50ml of acetone left, 50ml of ISP would be added. 4. There would be material on the bottom and a chalky white substance along the side of the beaker...the white chalky stuff is reportedly salt deposits and impurities, with some salvinorin. (It would contain small amounts of salvinorin, but purity was the goal.) The chalky substance would be taken off with a Q-tip and discarded. 5. Equal parts of acetone and ISP would be added again and placed in Speed Drier again. If it is pure, the material would expand into a white, cake-like substance as it dries, looking like small pieces of dried white bread. This is pure salvinorin-a.
SIMPLIFIED, AUTOMATIC ISP EXTRACTION:
METHOD ONE: Through far less efficient, ISP could be used instead acetone in exactly the same way. Once the extraction is complete, one the extract would be heated to 86 degrees Celcius or 186 degrees Fahrenheit and boiled until there was only a small amount of ISP left. This would then be quickly cooled, and the salvinorin would precipitate to the bottom of the container. If this process were started with already dried extract, 100 ml if ISP would be used for every 30 mg of salvinorin resin/powder. METHOD TWO: The salvinorin could be put into ISP and set in darkness for several weeks to a month and the salvinorin would form crystals and precipitate to the bottom of the container. TO MAKE TINCTURE FROM PURE SALVINORIN: Everclear can hold about 1.5mg of salvinorin per ml. This means that every ounce of tincture (28ml) would hold about 42mg of salvinorin. Plant material reportedly helps carry salvinorin into mucous membranes, so 5 dropperfuls of "Herb Pharm Peppermint Spirits" and one teabag of "Tazo: Refresh" for every ounce would make for a pleasant tincture, with the essential mint oils and plant material necessary.
